An Innovative Energy Project Harnessing the Power of Water and the Sun With the completion and commissioning of our Cemel I–II–III Hybrid Power Plant in the Avanos district of Nevşehir Province, Türkiye, we have brought together the power of the Kızılırmak River and solar energy within a single integrated facility. The Avanos Weir and Cemel Hydroelectric Power Project comprises three dam-toe hydroelectric power plants with a combined installed capacity of 21.60 MWm / 20.40 MWe. Cemel I HPP was completed and entered commercial operation in June 2013, followed by Cemel II HPP in October 2013. Construction of Cemel III HPP began in February 2014, and the plant commenced commercial operation in July 2015. In 2025, a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 18.86 MWm / 17.82 MWe was installed to make more effective use of renewable resources and the existing grid connection. The integration of this solar facility into the existing hydropower infrastructure transformed the development into the Cemel I–II–III Hybrid Power Plant. By harnessing the complementary characteristics of hydroelectric and solar power, this hybrid configuration enables more efficient and balanced utilisation of the existing 20.40 MWe grid connection capacity.
